CumbulonimbusOne of two dandy images of a "Towering Q" off in the distance. Anvil and overshooting top are plainly visible. Storm was near Jacksonville, FL on 6/26/06. Submitted by Mary.

CumulonimbusAnother great view of the Towering Q!

Flash FloodingI was supposed to be working at Cub Scout Day Camp, but this is what I found when I arrived. Creeks out of banks and a flooded road...one of dozens in the area as a moderate flooding event continues. We put up the yellow tape to keep others out. BTW, that's a bridge! Fuzzy picture taken on my cell phone during a downpour. Taken on 6/26/06.

Multicell ClusterTypical Multicell storm. Photo from NOAA SkyWARN training manual. Four distinct cells are visible in this cluster; each one gets a turn at being dominant. Multicell Clusters can produce prolific rain and strong downbursts!
